Obama will establish a new American Opportunity Tax Credit that is worth $4,000 a year in exchange for 100 hours of public service a year.
…when we invest in your future, we’re going to ask you to invest in the future of your country. To receive this credit, we’ll require 100 hours of public service – you’ll have to work at a veteran’s hospital or nursing home; join an AmeriCorps program or work in a local school. You get a hand living your dreams, and then you help your fellow citizens live theirs – that’s how we’re going to move this country forward; that how we’re going to come together behind a common purpose. Good thing frogblog is in the English language otherwise you would receive tons of “mauvais jeux de mots” around the title of the ObamaBit series ;)
Also, try never use the French expression “le doute m’habite”, if you see what I mean?
Ahh Tilly! You’re right!!! I was using my anglophone brain when I came up with that. It is mildly suggestive in English, and more general; an intentional nod to his physical attractiveness (also why the category avatar is his famous beefcake photo). But it’s not as specific as it is in French! That cracks me up! I wonder if any of my bi-lingual readers have caught that… Vincent didn’t say anything, so I guess it wasn’t the first thing that came to his mind.
Thanks for the tip on that other expression. Heureusement, c’est pas très souvent que le doute m’habite !
(I mentioned your comment to Vincent, and he just played me “Tout chez moi l’habite” by Gotainer. Rigolo !)
