You know you live in France when a new girlfriend you barely know wishes you and your husband a year of poetry and eroticism for New Year’s…
In fact the French are quite lyrical in their New Year wishes. It’s very nice, and I hope I get everything they wished me: joy, happiness, luck, energy. And poésie and érotisme, of course. So creative, these Froggies.
We’re off to a good start. The first week of January was filled with poetry. At least that’s how I see it. Paris, dressed in white. A first for me.

Here’s wishing you a year of whatever you consider to be poetry and lots of firsts.

Since you already got the poetry and erotic, I wish you health, wealth and tangible take it to the bank success that allows you more poetry and eroticism( yes, I am an American.;-)
Hi La Belette.
Thank you. As an American, I have no problem accepting an offer of “take it to the bank” success! Thanks for that!
I hope the rest of your year will be full of all the good things you had your first week of January and more.
Happy new year! I, too, have been entranced by the snow. So sorry to see it go! C’est l’Eglise St Julien le Pauvre dans le photo, non? One of my favorite spots in the whole city–I was just thinking today that I should head over there and take some pix of it. Lovely shot.
Hi Angela.
Thank you! Those are great Paris snow shots on your blog too! I guess it’s a relatively rare occurrence. Certainly hasn’t happened in the two and a half years I’ve been here.
I’m not sure what church that is. It’s behind the little park on the quai across from Notre Dame (rive gauche), and next to Shakespeare & Co. The park was closed because of the snow. I was bummed, I wanted to go in and take pics.
Nice to meet you!
